जातस्त हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च ।
तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि ॥
भावार्थ : हर वह [जीव] जिसने जन्म लिया है उसकी मृत्यु निश्चित है, और मृत्यु के पाश्चात् पुनः जन्म भी निश्चित है | इसलिए इस अवश्यम्भावी(जिसका होना तय हो) के लिए तुम्हे शोक नही करना चाहिये |

अव्यक्तादीनि भूतानि व्यक्तमध्यानि भारत ।
अव्यक्तनिधनान्येव तत्र का परिदेवना ॥
भावार्थ : हे अर्जुन! सभी जीव जन्म से पहले अप्रकट(अव्यक्त) थे और मरने के बाद पुनः अप्रकट(अव्यक्त) हो जायेंगे, केवल बीच में ही [भौतिक श्री धारण कर] प्रकट(व्यक्त) हैं | फिर इस बारे(जन्म और मृत्यु के बारे) में सोच(चिंता) क्या करना? ॥

jatasya hi dhruvo mrtyur dhruvam janma mrtasya ca
tasmad apariharye 'rthe na tvam socitum arhasi
Everyone who has taken birth has to die, and after death, rebirth is assured. Therefore you should not grieve over the inevitable.

Avyaktadini bhutani vyaktam adhyani bharat,
avyakta nidhnanyeva tatra ka parivedna.
"All beings were indiscernible before their birth but they will once again become indiscernible when annihilated, they are distinct enough to be noticed in their intermediate period; why then the expression of woe?"
